Elton John: New Album & Surprise Train Station Concert

Elton John has just released his 32nd studio L.P., Wonderful Crazy Night. Some reviewers have mentioned a return to an early ’70s sound, which has me intrigued.
To celebrate the new album’s release, Elton made a surprise appearance at London’s Kings’ Cross-St. Pancras train station, performing a piano medley for the crowd. You can catch it below and read more at EltonJohn.com.
Congrats on the new blog! Been reading your other for years now, while on my lunch break at work.
Nice to see/hear Reg solo on piano. He’s really a remarkable pianist. Find it kinda telling that so many are watching their smartphone screens as they stand there…needing to create that distance from reality right in front of them. No one reacts as he moves from song to song. No one speaks a word ( just the woo-hoo!) as he finishes. No one says anything!
Thanks very much, Mike!
Yes, it is a bit strange how the crowd reacts. Like they’re watching a video almost and not actually participating. I understand the urge to film Elton’s surprise appearance, but it does take you out of the moment.
